Reviews February 2023 - group of 14 from Slovenia/Singapore/Croatia/Serbia First of all Linda is a fantastic host. Super friendly, easy to talk to and accommodating. The house is very nice, well kept, comfortable and well equipped. We were all scared of being cold as it was February but Linda made sure the house was warm on arrival and the house was really warm and cosy the entire stay which we really appreciated. It is a bit far from ski slopes but nevertheless fantastic stay.
August 2022 - (Daniel - group of 14 from Germany) We had a great week with a larger tour group in Volce/Tolmin. The village of Volce is very quiet and close to the accommodation (max 50-100 meters) there is a lovely corner shop and a pizzeria. For larger purchases, there is a 5-minute drive away in tolmin a hofer (aldi). It's about a 15-minute walk to the Soci riverfront. A busy road runs right next to the house and there are sometimes no sidewalks, which is why you should be a little careful when crossing the road, especially with children. Some of the attic rooms have sloping ceilings and there are a few nice highlights such as a free-standing bathtub and a well-equipped kitchen with a gas stove. We all felt very comfortable and enjoyed our time there. The communication with Linda, who exchanged ideas with us before the stay, was very positive, so that everything went smoothly. If we come back to Tolmin I can very well imagine renting this house again.
July 2022 (Lucy - from York UK) I stayed here with a group of friends so we could go to the MetalDays festival in Tolmin. The house is great! We could walk into Tolmin in about 40 minutes and there's a lovely spot by the river Soča 15-20 minutes' walk away. There's a small shop across the road from the house (very convenient) and plenty more shops, restaurants, etc in Tolmin. The house had everything we needed - we cooked a few meals in the kitchen with no trouble. An added benefit in July is that it's an old stone house so does stay comparatively cool. There are plenty of fans around to help with this. Communication with Linda was always easy, so getting everything sorted out before and during the stay was no problem.
July 2022 - (Gino - group of 8 from Munich Germany) Sehr schönes Haus und gemutliches wohnzimmer. Auch gut fur butik festival August 2021 Absolut nice and top👍👍👍 (Robert M - Switzerland - group of 6)
August 2021 It is a great place to do all the activaties in this region. The house is amazing and super clean. It was a great place to come home to. (Joep - group of 9 from Holland).
July 2020 We had a good time at the house. Communication with Mrs. French way uncomplicated and friendly. The house is Cosy and clean, there are lot of outdoor activities you can do In the area. What could have been better: cooking stuff could have been bigger for 15 people ( e.g. bigger bowls). But beside that the kitchen was well equipped. ( a dish washer would be a plus point). And the dining room and the loving room was a Bit Small for a big group. But all in all a nice stay!! From Germany
Sept 2019 We stayed at this beautiful character house, full of uniqueness. It was exactly how Linda described in the advert, but is even better in real life, creaking floorboards and stone walls. The house is huge, with lots of rooms for people to sit together. It is situated on the main road through the village, and gives great views from many of the windows. The balcony has lovely views across the tops of houses built into the mountains, but as our group was large we could not all sit on that balcony comfortably together at the same time, but plenty of room for us all all sit outside and BBQ in the courtyard. The village is quiet, with a fantastic pizzeria opposite where you can park your cars. A very well stocked supermarket is just across the road, and not to mention the fantastic LABRCA restaurant we all walked to, overlooking the river. There is some peak morning traffic, but nothing like living in the city. In fact the morning church bells were louder, but we loved the chimes, and found them rather endearing. The house has been very well thought out in terms of contrasting the old with the new, which you can see the owner has considered preservation throughout. The dining room with floor lights and solid stone wall and original beams, has a huge dining table, where all 15 can sit and eat together. It has a log burner in, which would be amazing when lit, but with temperatures of well over 30 degrees we did not need it. We appreciated the huge bathrooms as well. The recycling takes some getting used to. You have to separate your plastics, paper and glass and food, and take it to the recycling bins daily, which are just the bottom of the house. This was something we were not used to, but these are the rules in Slovenia. A fantastic place to stay for two or three families travelling together, would fully recommend, as well as Linda being a great host. Marc - UK
August 2019 We had a very good time in the fantastic Soca valley. The house is tastefully decorated, very clean and fully functional. A really great place for people who don’t mind some street noise. We‘d come back. (Uli - Germany)
August 2019 Tolmin is well located in Slovenia, for hikes in the national park, rafting on the Soca river, fly fishing and many outdoor activities. The house is vast, on three floors, with plenty of space for everyone, and very good equipment. It is just next to the road going from Kovarid to Most Na Soci. There can be some traffic at certain hours of the day. We did not see any scorpions :-) Eduord (France).
June 2019 Great place and a great stay. Easy access to Tolmin and surrounding area. Great base for our fishing trip really enjoyed our stay... pizza across the road very nice. Thanks for a great stay.
September 2018 Beautiful area, a bit away from the city life, but all within easy reach by car. Dreamlike mountains, lakes and rivers. We were there with 13 men and loved both the accommodation and the surroundings. There is a lot to do (rafting, canyoning, Mautainbiken, downhill driving, hiking, swimming, etc.). It was certainly not the last holiday in Slovenia. The accommodation is highly recommended! And communication with the owners was great! Thank you Michael (GERMANY)
July 2018 My wife and friend stayed at this amazing house. It was much bigger than what we needed but that’s all that we could find at the time mainly because Metal Days Festival was on. We were going mainly for the festival but also to see the gorge, swim in the the Soća river and to eat loads of pizza. The house is next to the main road which can be noisey but l think the festival created the influx of traffic. Local taxi driver, Simon, helped us every day getting to and from the festival but to walk it was only 30-40mins. The house is well maintained and bathrooms and beds were very good. The pizza shop across the road were very inviting and the pizzas were awesome. The views from out front the house are amazing. The view of the mountains were something we will never forget and the locals helped us whenever we needed. Our next door neighbour even offered to take us to the festival one day. Very hospitable. Linda was easy to deal with and emails were easy to understand. Whilst the house was more than we needed for 3 people it was certainly an amazing experience and loved Volče. Thank you Linda and hopefully we can return soon. Palf, Katie and Aaron.
August 2018 the living room lived up to expectations. we enjoyed spaces that were absolutely adequate for our guests (we stayed there for 9) and the accessories (in particular the 2 washer-dryers and everything in the kitchen) as well as consistency with the information on the site. The house is spread over 3 floors. The area is extremely quiet and ideal for a relaxing holiday. Mandatory for each trip a private vehicle. ideal for visiting the different naturalistic attractions of the "Soca" valley. Despite the distances are not excessive, transfers to central Slovenia (eg Ljubljana) are penalized by a careful but sometimes winding road system with significant journey times. Excellent self-check-in solution. Stefano (Italy).
August 2017 Es war einfach, unkompliziert und sehr schön! Linda ist eine tolle Gastgeberin und sehr bemüht dass alles passt. Also wir würden gerne jederzeit wieder buchen. Danke für Alles! Werner (group of 13 from Austria). July 2017 Hi Linda, Sorry to be late, I was on Holiday. Your house was really famous, clean, complete, beautiful and located in the most beautiful area in Europe. I just fall in love of Soca river ! We had a really nice time there and thank you for the time you used to help me. You are a really nice people and I have so say thanks for all ! Thanks for all I will not forget Slovenia cause of you and your house, Gauthier group of scouts from Belgium.
June 2017 Set in the quiet village of Volce, the house is spacious and well furnished for large families and groups, Kids loved the hot tub on the wet day. Lovely walks and easy access to the Soca River and Triglav National Park. Pizza across the road is great value and the beers. Communication with Linda was very good and we had a ball. Hugh (from Ireland).
May 2017 It was perfect meeting from Linda. We decided to come to Slovenia at night, I've found this home and Linda prepared all for us immediately. I was in Slovenia many many times, Volce is perfect location between Tolmin and Kobarid and more calm place to stay there. House is very big with a lot of bathrooms (didn't count them :)). Very clean and we had everything for cooking. Anastasia Engleson (Russia)
